On Sunday April 27th the
Dance Company had the pleasure of traveling into Boston,
with the help of several of our very gracious and generous Mom's including
Sandy O'Malley, Sue Cass, Sue Socci, Kathy Fausnacht & Cathy Canty,
to the Jeannette Neil
Dance Studio where we met with Michelle
Tolson,
one of Radio City Music Hall's Rockette's.
The Dance Company as well as Christine and students from 2 other
studio's
spent several hours with Michelle as she taught
them jazz and tap routines as well as a portion of a kickline routine used
by the
Rockettes in several of their shows. Christine was singled
out by Michelle and asked to go to the front of the room to demonstrate a
snap kick that was being taught. I think the Dance Company members
were as proud of Christine as we are of them!
The dance portion was followed by a Q & A segment and a mock interview where
the girls were put into small groups of 6 and asked to introduce
themselves,
tell the group something of interest about themselves and then perform
the jazz and kickline portions taught earlier in the day.
It was a wonderful learning experience for the girls,
one we hope to repeat in the future with the rest of the studio.
The following picture were taken at the Jeannette Neil Studio.
I apologize for the clarity of some of the pictures, but it was a very difficult
place to film
as there was sunlight streaming through the windows and the walls were
lined with mirrors.
Hopefully you can still see the excitement.
